
Dear Chester Community,
Thank you to the many residents who attended our School District Meeting on Wednesday evening. New Hampshire’s tradition of local decision-making provides an opportunity to come together, discuss important issues, and vote on matters that directly impact our schools. We appreciate the strong engagement and support from our community.
The following are the results from our meeting:
- Article 3 – Operating Budget – Passed
This article passed unanimously by voice vote. Approval of this article provides the operating budget needed to maintain current staffing and programs.
- Article 4 – CESPA Contract – Passed
This article passed by voice vote with strong support. It approved the ratified agreement between the Chester Educational Support Personnel Association and the School Board, with contract changes and salary schedules taking effect July 1.
- Article 6 – School Building Maintenance Expendable Trust Fund – Passed
This article passed unanimously by voice vote and places $100,000 of year-end unassigned fund balance into a trust fund to support future roof replacement. Passage of this article has no new tax impact.
- Article 7 – Boiler Capital Reserve Fund – Passed
This article passed unanimously by voice vote and places $40,000 of year-end unassigned fund balance into a fund for future boiler replacement. Passage of this article has no new tax impact.

As a reminder, several school district positions will be on the ballot this year, including two School Board seats, School Treasurer, School District Moderator, and School District Clerk.
