Dear Chester Educational Community,

The District received notification from the NHDHHS today that two students have tested positive with COVID-19. The youngsters were last in the building on Friday, March 12th . Unfortunately, due to the nature of the learning in the classroom attended by one of these students, the entire classroom of students has been determined to be close contacts. Parents of these children have been notified of the possible exposure and following protocol as prescribed by the CDC and NHDHHS they were asked to move their youngsters immediately into quarantine and to monitor for COVID symptoms through Monday of next week. The students will be able to return on Tuesday provided they have no symptoms. We are most appreciative of their cooperation.

Three staff members have also been determined to be close contacts in this situation. They will also be quarantining for that same time period.

We look forward to quick recoveries for our students and hope that all the close contacts remain healthy. We remain optimistic that our layers of mitigation tactics are reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission within the building. We encourage all those in our educational community to continue to be vigilant with regard to COVID mitigation strategies. Please continue to wear masks, keep 6 feet of physical distance when out and about, and practice good hand hygiene.

We will continue to monitor the status of these cases. Should you have specific questions about the status of our school operations, or any specific concerns for your student, please do not hesitate to contact me or Principal Lacroix. We will continue to do our best to provide you with up to date information.
