Dear Chester Academy Families,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer! As we prepare for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, I wanted to share a summer update on the exciting projects and improvements happening at our school.
Our new playground is coming together beautifully! Demolition of the old structure and installation of the new equipment began in early July. Most of the equipment is now in place, with only the ropes for the large play structure still in transit. We are hopeful they will arrive before the first day of school. The rubber surfacing was completed this past Friday, and our playground installers will be wrapping up a few final details this coming week. We are excited to open the playground for the Back-to-School BBQ where we will celebrate with a dedication ceremony.
Thanks to the generous donation of time and materials from MLM Construction, the entrance to the Gladys Nichols Trail has been improved. The newly graded gravel entrance will provide a safer and more accessible entry to the trail from the school.
Inside the school, we have been busy making important upgrades to enhance the learning environment. Projects include the continued installation of classroom air conditioning, an HVAC software update, and a full upgrade to LED lighting throughout the building. These improvements will help create a more comfortable, brighter, and more energy-efficient environment for learning.
Our dedicated staff has been working over the summer collaborating in teacher teams to refine curriculum, participate in professional development, and plan for a successful year ahead. Next week, we welcome our new staff for three days of orientation, training, and collaboration with their mentors. The following week, all staff return for key school-year updates, professional development, and time to prepare for the start of the school year.
