Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Chester Academy Community,

Welcome back! I hope that you and your family were able to enjoy a festive and happy holiday season. We were so very excited to see our children back in school today!

Many of our students, staff, and family members were afflicted with COVID during the break. As of today, 14 students and 3 staff have reported positive test results. None of these cases involve school contacts but we want to make sure we continue to stay vigilant with our preventative measures given the continued surge of the virus. Please closely monitor your children and do not send them to school if they have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 or if someone in their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days. Please report any symptoms, exposure, or questions to the school nurse.

We do have an extremely limited supply of at-home tests available. These supplies will be limited to 1 per household. To arrange for a pickup time, please contact Nurse Lora Howard, RCN, BSN at [email protected].

We also wanted to let you know that the NH DPHS continues to require the 10-day isolation period for positive cases and quarantine for unvaccinated household contacts. They will be reviewing the new CDC guidelines and plans to communicate with us further if they plan to change New Hampshire guidelines.

Thank you as always for your partnership,

Sharon Locke, EdD

Superintendent of Schools
