Multiple COVID Cases - Dec 8, 2021
Posted on 12/08/2021

Dear Chester Academy Community,

I am sending this message to inform you that we learned of five (5) additional COVID cases today.  Two are middle school students and one is a  middle school staff member; they are possibly linked with the previously identified Cluster.  Principal Lacroix is sending separate messages to those who are considered close contacts. All middle school families should monitor students carefully, keep students home for any symptoms, and communicate with one of our school nurses. The additional two (2) cases are elementary students who both have known household transmissions and have been at home quarantining.

It is important for all families to keep children home from school when they are sick.  Even if your child has tested negative for COVID, they should remain at home until they are feeling better.  Students who have a temperature of 100 degrees or greater must stay home and rest until the fever is gone for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.  If antibiotics have been prescribed, students should be on antibiotics for 24-48 hours before returning to school. If you have any questions about sending your child to school, please contact one of our nurses.

Thank you again for your partnership,

Sharon Locke, EdD

Superintendent of Schools
